Clouds over Chinese bloggers

Chedong told me that some more blogs in China can’t be accessed because they didn’t register their site following recent regulation to force any non-commercial web sites hosted in China to claim their site in a central gov database.

A populat blogger, Topku, also a guest blogger on cnblog, said that his blog site was stopped by ISP without any noticifation. ISPs’ working model is to shut down any hosting site first, then request the user to claim their site to restore the service.
Claim your web site if you are Chinese
However, when some bloggers, like Milkliker, try to claim their blog. He was refused by the clerk of telecom administration bureau.

Seems the “Adopt a Chinese Blog” program is so neccessary….
