HD Radio

在Eric 的A VC中看到这个消息，我颇有兴趣: Clear Channel 公司准备将美国1000多个模拟广播电台转换为HD Radio。这家公司采用的是Eric 公司所投资的iBiquity, 正是他们首先开发了 HD Radio技术。

HD Radio 工作机制与传统电台相兼容，这就是传统电台可以采纳的一个很好的理由。利用同样的发射频、发射仪器、广播发射塔，就可以在传统的频道上增加数字广播的能力。经过改造的收音机能够接收明显提高的声音效果。还可以有更多数字方式的功能可以想象出来，例如车载收音机上可以显示正在播出的节目内容、歌词、广告，等等。还有HD BML数据格式可以编程访问，所以发展顺利的话，预计很快也会有PC上的外设出现。

看到这样的案例，有经验的团队就可以开始想了，是否可以把这个技术引入到中国来？

I monitored digital radio technologies four years ago. It has not taken off yet due to the doubts on ROI. I need to check what the difference is between HD radio and digital radio. BTW, satellite radio is really picking up in US, and it can do all the functions of HD radio.

Satellite radios are not HD radio.. you idiot !!! You pay $9.99 to receive XM or Sirius , while HD will remain to be free !
There are currently close to 5000 radio stations in the US and each one of them have the potential to brocast HD signal,but there are only two companys can brocast satellite radios so far.
The bottom line.. although both HD and Satellite radios are digital, they are two totally different technology and the market are also different !
